NEWS - New Static Rod Locks series
3A's product range is constantly under updating and developing, not only in terms of cylinders’s series but also with a keen focus on cylinder accessories.
In order to meet the increasing demand from our commercial partners, we are now able to offer a new series of static rod locks for pneumatic cylinders.
These complement 3A's existing range allowing to choose between static or dynamic rod locks.
Our static locking devices are characterized by their ability to block the piston rod in any position, preventing its movement in the event of an unexpected pressure lost.
This type of rod locks is particularly indicated for the use as a "safety" feature in situations where pressure loss may occur.
Moreover the locking force is always stronger than a 10 bar supplied cylinder.
The release of the piston rod must only occur when the pressures inside the cylinder chambers are balanced to prevent irregular rod movements that could cause damages to the cylinder itself.
Cylinders must be produced with an extended piston rod for the installation of the rod locks, which can be easily found in our product catalog.

The main points of strength of this new series of static locking devices can be briefly summed-up as:
- The rod locking system ensures a secure sealing even with a maximum pressure of 10 bar inside the cylinder and in the presence of grease on the rod;
- The choice of high-quality internal components of the locking device assure a perfect closing and opening of the locking jaws, guaranteeing a perfectly smooth and linear rod movement once unlocked;
- The scraper seal on the locking device's nose ensures a perfect cleaning of the rod from any material residues.
In the end, this series of static rod locks stands out not only for the high performances provided but also for its very interesting price level compared to the dynamic version.
These are available for ISO6432 and ISO15552 cylinders up to Ø125, and the presence of ISO fixing hole spacing on the locking profile allows the possibility of combining these products with other standard fixing elements.
